Job description

Role Overview

This leadership role is centered on steering the planning and execution of multiple projects and programs. The position is responsible for aligning people, resources, budgets, policies, and processes so large initiatives are delivered effectively and with consistent results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of projects and programs in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Build, coach, and assess team members to keep the project/program management function operating efficiently.
  • Set the governance framework by defining standards, workflows, and tools that support effective project delivery.
  • Create methods to establish productivity and quality goals and measure outcomes across all programs and projects.
  • Track projects from kickoff through completion while working closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Discuss and negotiate project specifications with customers when needed.
  • Design and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables using project management tools, including MS Teams with an orderly file structure.
  • Build risk registers for projects and programs, address escalations proactively, and coordinate solutions to protect customer satisfaction and delivery commitments.
  • Own overall program performance and provide regular status updates to executive leadership and functional leaders.

Qualification Criteria

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or at least 10 years of senior-level program/project management experience.
  • PfMP or PMP certification is required.
  • PMP certification plus a minimum of 5 years in a director-level or higher leadership role involving broad cross-functional coordination.
  • At least 10 years of overall project management experience.
  • Experience applying LEAN or Six Sigma methods.
  • Strong people skills with the ability to build alignment and handle conflict constructively.
  • Polished communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present effectively at EVP level and adapt messaging to the audience.
  • A strategic, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to identify the most important and highest-impact work.
  • Experience managing large teams in a matrix organization with multiple dependencies and complex workstreams.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity while keeping momentum and team engagement strong.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
