Job description
Role overview
Queensland Treasury is seeking a senior leader to head the PMO and delivery function for MAISQ. This position steers a portfolio of strategic programs that influence Queensland’s compulsory third party (CTP) and injury insurance schemes, with a strong focus on governance, delivery discipline, and uplift across digital and business systems capability.
Working alongside executive stakeholders, you will shape coordinated delivery across complex initiatives, improve data and reporting practices, and guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver against regulatory, financial, and service objectives.
Your opportunity
This appointment offers the chance to help drive system reform, strengthen delivery capability, and oversee a broad portfolio covering technology, business systems, and reporting. You will play a key role in governance, benefits realisation, and future-focused planning to support current and emerging organisational needs.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the delivery of priority programs and projects so they remain aligned with organisational goals.
- Lead PMO governance, performance monitoring, and reporting using modern agile practices.
- Manage links and dependencies across multiple workstreams, teams, and initiatives.
- Develop and support a high-performing multidisciplinary workforce, including external contractors.
- Oversee resources, budgets, schedules, and risk management to protect scope, time, and quality.
- Lift portfolio and project management capability across the broader organisation.
- Engage senior stakeholders and represent MAISQ in cross-agency forums and initiatives.
- Manage information governance, data integrity, and reporting from insurers and internal platforms.
- Ensure systems and platforms meet requirements for regulation, risk, and claims management.
- Advise senior leaders on cyber security, data privacy, and risk matters.
Experience and capability required
You should bring a strong track record of leading ICT and business change programs, delivering within agreed scope and budget. Experience in PMO leadership, including governance, reporting, and capability uplift through agile approaches, will be highly valued.
The role also calls for strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to build effective relationships in complex environments. Familiarity with business systems, data management, and digital transformation will be important, along with sound judgement in strategic planning, risk, and issue management.
Qualifications
No mandatory qualification is specified for this position, although relevant qualifications will be regarded positively.
How to apply
Applicants are asked to provide a resume that outlines relevant experience and a cover letter of no more than two pages explaining their interest in the role and how their background, skills, and experience make them a strong match.
