Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, the Director of Warehousing is responsible for the oversight and optimization of multiple Distribution Centers across the country. This key leadership role entails driving operational execution, meeting profitability goals, ensuring customer satisfaction, and guaranteeing adherence to all regulatory standards. The role demands hands-on involvement with frontline managers and teams to diagnose challenges, lead improvements, and push for smarter, more efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver operational KPI targets, service benchmarks, and financial objectives including stringent cost containment and enhanced productivity.
• Lead budget preparation, oversee profit and loss management, and optimize labor and resource allocation efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to increase profit margins, implement cost reduction, and productivity enhancing initiatives.
• Manage multiple Distribution Centers ensuring safety, compliance, and smooth operational standards.
• Drive continuous process improvement, standardize SOPs, and improve system efficiencies across sites.
• Enhance accuracy and reliability of inventory through data analysis, control measures, and audits.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory bodies including CFIA, GMP, TSSA along with safety and quality protocols.
• Develop strategic customer partnerships by anticipating requirements, resolving issues, and supporting business growth.
• Contribute to RFIs and RFPs; collaborate with cross-functional teams to propose competitive and strategic solutions.
• Build and maintain credible industry relationships, representing the organization professionally.
• Inspire and mentor managers and teams to promote high performance and cooperative culture grounded on company values.
• Lead by example with a visible, hands-on leadership style encouraging ownership mindset within teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• A university degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field is required.
• A minimum of 10 years progressive experience in warehousing or third-party logistics management.
• Proven track record in delivering operational effectiveness and financial results.
• Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse management systems, labor planning, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong communication skills with ability to build relationships across hierarchical levels.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching ability, decisiveness, accountability, and resilience.
• Experience with engineered labor standards is considered beneficial.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

Additional Information

The role is based in Trenton, Ontario.

The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $125,000 per annum, determined by experience and qualifications.
