Role overview
A global energy and infrastructure company is hiring a senior business development leader to drive entry and expansion efforts in the U.S. power market. Based in Houston’s Energy Corridor, this position centers on identifying opportunities, building industry partnerships, structuring intricate energy transactions, and strengthening the organization’s footprint in the United States.
Location: Houston Energy Corridor, Houston, TX
Compensation: USD 200,000 to 300,000 per year
What you will do
- Create and carry out strategies for entering and growing in the U.S. power sector.
- Develop and maintain relationships with IPPs, developers, EPC contractors, utilities, and other key market participants.
- Identify priority markets, rank project opportunities, and form strategic alliances.
- Build and manage a pipeline of power generation and energy infrastructure deals.
- Evaluate project feasibility, commercial attractiveness, and overall viability.
- Lead negotiations on EPC agreements, commercial terms, payment frameworks, and risk-sharing provisions.
- Strengthen long-term partnerships that generate repeat business and new opportunities.
- Help expand into emerging areas such as gas-fired generation and related energy solutions.
What the employer is looking for
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a similar discipline.
- At least 15 years of experience in power generation, energy development, project development, or business development.
- Established connections with U.S.-based IPPs, developers, EPC firms, utilities, or similar stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. power markets, project development processes, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven capability in negotiating complex commercial contracts and closing large energy projects.
- Texas/ERCOT experience is strongly desirable.
- Background in utility-scale power generation or energy infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Evidence of a strong network within the U.S. energy sector.
- Ability to originate, negotiate, and close strategic energy deals.
- Experience working in a global organization and coordinating with international teams.
