Job description
Role overview
This is a senior, on-site leadership position covering the East Coast. The role reports to the President and may involve relocation support, with exact location details shared later.
Company snapshot
- The employer is a major dealer with multiple business lines and a long operating history.
- Employees are offered a strong package of perks and benefits.
- The environment is intended to support a long-term career path.
What the job involves
You will have end-to-end responsibility for sales and operations across three business areas: commercial tire service, wholesale distribution, and retread manufacturing. The position carries full profit-and-loss ownership, and you will be expected to define sales targets, track productivity standards, direct purchasing, negotiate with vendors, set pricing strategy, and keep inventory and day-to-day operations performing effectively across all teams.
With roughly 100 direct reports, this is a highly active leadership role that requires constant floor presence. You will work directly in stores, in the retread facility, and alongside teams on the ground rather than operating as a desk-based manager.
You will also design and execute strategic business plans to expand market share and improve customer loyalty, while building strong relationships with commercial fleet clients, wholesale customers, and important vendor partners. In addition, you will review tire program results, rebate structures, and supplier agreements to safeguard margins. Workforce planning, hiring onboarding, coaching, and performance management across sales and operations will also be part of your remit, along with cross-functional coordination to keep the business moving efficiently.
Candidate background
The ideal background includes more than 10 years in tire-industry operations, with hands-on store management and leadership of operational teams. You should also bring at least 3 years of commercial truck tire sales experience, including familiarity with major brand programs, price sheets, and the commercial sales process. Prior exposure to, or direct involvement in, a retread operation is also required.
A bachelor's degree is preferred. However, substantial equivalent experience in sales management, store management, production, warehousing, or purchasing can also be considered.
Compensation and benefits
- Base pay ranges from $170,000 to $215,000, plus bonus potential.
- Relocation support is available.
- Benefits include health insurance, long-term disability, short-term disability, 401(k), 401(k) matching, paid vacation, and paid holidays.
