Role Summary

The Director will provide comprehensive leadership for all supply chain functions including strategic sourcing, supplier oversight, purchasing, materials management, inventory, planning, scheduling, and SIOP. Responsibilities include ensuring material availability, optimizing working capital, cultivating strategic supplier partnerships, and creating scalable processes that uphold operational excellence and growth while meeting delivery commitments in a configurable industrial equipment setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement sourcing strategies focused on cost efficiency, quality, delivery, and risk mitigation.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, performance monitoring, and business reviews.
• Develop risk mitigation and business continuity strategies in the supply chain.
• Drive initiatives to reduce total costs and foster supplier development in collaboration with Engineering and Operations.
• Manage the SIOP process aligning Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain for executable demand and supply plans.
• Supervise materials management, master scheduling, production planning, inventory control, receiving, and warehousing.
• Balance material availability and inventory investment to meet production schedules.
• Enhance inventory accuracy, update planning parameters, and optimize safety stock and replenishment strategies.
• Track and improve key planning metrics such as schedule adherence, forecast accuracy, inventory turnovers, and service levels.
• Align customer demand, manufacturing capacity, and supplier constraints to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance indicators including on-time delivery, quality, material shortages, cost variances, and forecast accuracy.
• Lead talent development through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Set clear performance expectations and manage direct reports through goal setting and feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Quality to support business goals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 10 years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, managing both strategic sourcing and planning/materials functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.

Preferred but Not Mandatory Qualifications

• APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
• Knowledge or certification in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
• MBA degree
• Experience in engineer-to-order, configure-to-order, or industrial equipment manufacturing environments

Physical and Work Environment

This role demands physical activity including frequent standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
