Director of Supply Chain Planning

Overview

The Director of Supply Chain Planning at Trinchero Family Wine and Spirits holds the critical responsibility for directing the end-to-end supply chain planning process. This role encompasses leadership of demand planning, supply planning, and production scheduling to ensure optimal inventory availability and service levels. Working within a collaborative environment, the director partners with teams across Commerce, Winemaking, Operations, Finance, and broader Supply Chain functions, addressing strategic and operational needs.

Key Duties

• Lead and inspire the supply planning team by fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes motivation and talent growth.
• Set objectives and provide ongoing guidance to ensure daily operation execution and team competencies development, including managing feedback and performance calibration.
• Enhance statistical demand planning processes focused on shipments and depletion patterns.
• Create and refine forecast processes in cooperation with Commerce stakeholders, generating actionable demand scenarios aligned with business aims.
• Incorporate assumptions around innovation and product launches into demand planning.
• Optimize inventory segmentation strategies across product portfolios.
• Develop production plans using tools such as IBP, focusing on meeting business goals, service levels, and inventory targets while analyzing risks related to production lead times, safety stock, and economic order quantities.
• Conduct monthly supply-demand analysis to identify and address risks and concerns.
• Maintain finished goods inventory to meet target service levels and availability metrics.
• Provide reports covering service levels, plan adherence, inventory strategy, supply plans, and resource impacts.
• Manage vintage changeover data in collaboration with Winemaking for efficient product utilization and reporting.
• Publish and execute leveled production schedules for assigned resources.
• Uphold compliance with Food Safety and Quality Management System policies, including ISO standards.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory coverage, product availability, capacity utilization, forecast accuracy (MAPE), bias, schedule adherence, and innovation success.
• Deliver clear and comprehensive KPI reporting to display performance insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related fields required; MBA is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in planning or supply chain leadership roles.
• Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, APICS, or Lean are advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent analytical abilities to clarify ambiguous situations and enable informed decision-making.
• Proven ability to foster cross-functional partnerships and articulate solutions effectively.
• Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and documentation.
• Experience with enterprise systems like SAP and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or equivalent supply chain planning tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, including capabilities in pivot tables and data visualization tools such as Power BI.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $129,300 to $240,100 annually, with starting pay determined by experience, education, location, and training. The company also offers a 401(k) plan with potential discretionary profit-sharing contributions.
