Overview
A highly regarded global leader in freight forwarding and supply chain services is seeking a seasoned bilingual Director of Supply Chain fluent in English and Chinese to direct operations in Toronto. This leadership role encompasses managing the entire logistics cycle, including inbound shipping, customs clearance, warehouse operations, and final-mile delivery throughout North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement strategic supply chain initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Supervise daily warehouse activities and coordinate cross-border e-commerce fulfillment alongside international freight forwarding.
- Lead inventory planning and comprehensive supply chain management processes.
- Build and guide multifunctional teams encompassing warehouse, freight forwarding, and transportation divisions.
- Maintain and grow strong partnerships with major clients, administering service level agreements and conducting business reviews.
- Manage annual financial plans, oversee vendor contracts, and ensure compliance with customs, transportation, and labor regulations.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of extensive experience in supply chain and logistics, with a minimum of 5 years in executive leadership roles.
- Proven expertise across warehouse operations, e-commerce fulfillment spanning borders, and freight forwarding.
- Demonstrated success in developing strategic supply chain plans and fostering continuous improvement, automation, and cost-saving measures.
- Experience managing international transportation modes—air, ocean, and ground—including import/export processes and customs adherence.
- Strong proficiency in managing key warehouse performance metrics, inventory accuracy, and effective labor deployment.
- Leadership skills to develop and inspire teams across different operational areas.
- Robust financial knowledge relating to budgeting, cost control, and procurement vendor management.
