The Director of Special Projects and Performance for the Qatar market is a senior executive role reporting directly to the Qatar Managing Director (MD). This position is responsible for overseeing the entire P&L of the Qatar market, managing strategic initiatives, leading a dedicated team, and driving sustainable growth and profitability with focused local leadership and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full Qatar market P&L, including setting budgets, forecasting, monthly variance analysis, and implementing corrective measures.
• Collaborate with the regional team on annual budget and Best Estimate cycles.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks while capitalizing on opportunities to exceed targets.
• Serve as the main accountable leader for Qatar’s financial outcomes alongside the MD.
• Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the MD, supporting decision-making on commercial and operational matters.
• Represent the MD in internal forums, cross-functional meetings, and regional conversations when requested.
• Prepare briefing materials and data-driven recommendations to support the MD during leadership reviews and stakeholder engagements.
• Drive cross-functional alignment within Qatar to ensure coherent priorities and smooth strategy execution.
• Analyze performance metrics across all verticals (Food, Local Shops, tmarts), pinpointing trends, anomalies, and improvement areas.
• Produce detailed reports for senior leadership outlining key performance drivers and actionable insights.
• Conduct competitive, customer behavior, and operational efficiency analyses to uncover growth opportunities and optimize profitability.
• Lead strategic and special projects end-to-end, from ideation to implementation, including launching new products and initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.
• Identify key gaps for turnaround efforts and collaborate with local teams to execute improvements.
• Lead efforts to leverage AI and automation by identifying new use cases to boost productivity and efficiency across market functions.
• Coordinate with the regional team to test, scale, and deploy AI tools in Qatar.
• Recruit, lead, and cultivate a high-performing team, establishing clear goals, ongoing feedback, and individual development plans.
• Promote a team culture grounded in accountability, curiosity, and high standards.

• Fluency and practical experience with artificial intelligence applications.
