Role Summary

The Director of Relationship Management role is pivotal to sustaining and expanding the partnerships that enable the Greenwood Project to support its Scholars. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position oversees retention and growth of the existing partner portfolio, cultivating trusted and multi-year engagements. It requires leveraging established connections obtained by the business development team and transforming them into enduring, mission-driven collaborations. This role blends the discipline of account management with a strong mission-focused approach to partner relations.

Key Duties

• Act as the lead relationship manager for a designated portfolio of partners, ensuring consistent trust and continuity from the handoff stage.
• Create and implement account strategies aimed at increasing partner engagement and encouraging enhanced financial support, achieving specified retention and growth objectives.
• Maintain a rigorous schedule of monthly communications—including calls, meetings, and visits—documented promptly in the CRM system.
• Perform quarterly evaluations of partner health to identify risks early and develop retention initiatives proactively before renewal periods.
• Coordinate effective partner transitions with the business development team and collaborate closely with the CEO and program teams to align engagement efforts with organizational goals.
• Ensure exemplary CRM data upkeep, documenting all partner interactions and forecasts on cash flow, thereby providing leadership with up-to-date revenue insights.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate demonstrates a proven history of managing corporate or institutional accounts with demonstrable metrics on retention and revenue growth. They are proficient communicators who comfortably engage high-level executives, and exhibit strong organizational ability to manage diverse partner needs simultaneously. Experience with CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred) and an entrepreneurial, mission-driven mindset are essential.

Preferred Experience

• Documented success expanding existing client or donor bases with measurable results.
• Familiarity with corporate sponsorship and partnership renewal methodologies.
• Experience within financial services sectors managing complex institutional relationships.

This position is based in Chicago, Illinois, offering a hybrid work setting with some required travel. Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary ranges between $90,000 and $110,000, with on-target earnings around $130,000 and potential total compensation up to $180,000 based on performance. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.
