Overview
The Director of Project Management for the Standard Products division will lead, coordinate, and manage all project management activities within the organization. This role focuses on developing and implementing efficient operational procedures and cost-effective systems to meet the company’s present and future needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training project management team members.
- Overseeing daily tasks and workflow within the department.
- Providing ongoing guidance and support to project management personnel.
- Conducting timely performance reviews and evaluations.
- Managing disciplinary actions and terminations in line with company policies.
Key Duties
- Defining, executing, and communicating the strategic direction for the standard products project management division.
- Partnering with senior leadership to achieve company objectives while offering project management expertise.
- Collaborating across departments to further organizational goals.
- Identifying, recommending, and implementing innovations in processes, technologies, and systems to enhance efficiency and resource utilization.
- Establishing and enforcing project management policies, standards, and practices to ensure consistent support and execution.
- Reviewing and approving project budgets and billing plans.
- Assessing and managing staffing needs for the project management function.
- Reporting regularly on performance metrics to company leadership.
- Keeping abreast of advancements and trends in project management.
- Determining training requirements and facilitating the development and delivery of necessary training programs.
- Performing additional related responsibilities as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
- Thorough understanding of industry principles, procedures, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or similar software.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in the industry with at least 3 years in a management role.
Travel and Physical Requirements
- Travel at least once monthly to visit project sites with Project Managers or attend conferences and meetings.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods and work extensively at a computer.
- Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
