About the Role

This position is based in Atlanta, GA and requires on-site presence; remote work is not permitted. The Director of Project Management will provide strategic guidance and comprehensive oversight over the planning, delivery, and financial outcomes of large-scale, complex utility services projects and programs at Osmose. This leadership role ensures alignment across operations, engineering, delivery, and business development teams while maintaining portfolio-level governance and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct a portfolio of sizable or complex utility service projects and programs with strategic foresight.
  • Collaborate with Osmose Operations and Business Development leaders to efficiently convert project backlog into revenue and profit margins.
  • Define project goals, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with company guidelines, Project Management KPIs, and contractual commitments.
  • Act as the executive sponsor and primary customer-facing leader in project and strategic meetings.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet or exceed estimated revenue through strategic governance and timely corrective measures.
  • Conduct portfolio and program evaluations focusing on financial health, delivery risks, and client satisfaction.
  • Manage project financials including forecasting, budgeting, variance assessments, and initiate corrective action when necessary.
  • Work closely with contract administration to mitigate contractual and financial risk while sustaining client relationships.
  • Approve project reports covering safety, quality, costs, scheduling, revenue, gross margin productivity, and risk management.
  • Proactively identify, monitor, and address project risks and issues in collaboration with other departments throughout the lifecycle.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Osmose's project management practices and governance standards.
  • Mentor and develop project management personnel, overseeing multiple direct reports.
  • Perform additional responsibilities designated by the Vice President of Project Management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a relevant technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of advancing experience in project management, specifically managing large or complex programs.
  • Proven track record managing project portfolios with significant fiscal responsibility.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Deep knowledge of project cost accounting mechanisms such as revenue tracking, cost of goods, accruals, and billing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills collaborating effectively with cross-functional operational and engineering teams.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder relation skills at the executive level.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours to meet business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the utility or utility services sector.
  • Background in construction management.
  • Certification such as PMP, PMI, or an equivalent project management credential.
