Job description

Organization Overview

Dreamers and Immigrant Family Support Foundation (DAIFS) is a California-based nonprofit focused on helping Dreamers, DACA recipients, and immigrant families build stability and opportunity. Its work centers on advocacy, educational support, emergency aid, and community-driven resources that improve economic mobility and day-to-day well-being.

The foundation partners with trusted immigration support networks, organizes educational and career-focused workshops, delivers financial literacy programming, and collaborates with donors, sponsors, and community organizations to provide assistance for urgent needs such as housing, utilities, transportation, and other essential expenses.

Role Summary

The Director of Programs and Community Impact is a volunteer, hybrid position located in Folsom, CA, with some flexibility to work from home. The role is responsible for shaping, launching, and reviewing DAIFS programs so they effectively serve Dreamers, DACA recipients, and immigrant families. This includes advocacy efforts, learning workshops, career development and financial literacy initiatives, and emergency assistance services.

Key Functions

In this position, you will work closely with staff, volunteers, and external partners to understand community priorities, build relevant programs, and help ensure that resources are accessible and equitable. You will also oversee schedules and budgets, monitor program results, prepare updates and reports for organizational leaders and funders, and sustain productive relationships with partner groups, sponsors, and volunteers.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with outreach, representing the foundation at community gatherings and meetings, and contributing to long-term planning that strengthens DAIFS’s overall impact.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideal candidates will bring a strong foundation in program management and program development, along with the ability to plan, coordinate, and refine mission-driven services. Experience with community engagement and community development is important for building trust and working collaboratively with diverse groups.

Applicants should also be comfortable with strategic planning, maintaining multiple projects at once, using common office and collaboration tools, and working independently in a hybrid setup. Experience in nonprofit or social services environments, especially with immigrant or underserved communities, is considered a strong advantage.

Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and relationship-building abilities are essential. A demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive work is expected, and bilingual or multilingual candidates are preferred.
