Role Overview
The Director of Product & Delivery leads the execution of uMed's application product roadmap. This role ensures smooth coordination among Application Product, Delivery, and Product Operations teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. Reporting to the Chief Product & Technology Officer, the Director combines operational leadership with hands-on involvement throughout the product lifecycle, overseeing product management, design, delivery planning, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CPTO to develop and execute clear, achievable application product delivery plans.
- Support defining initiatives and stories properly before development, accounting for business requirements, dependencies, and compliance.
- Maintain visibility on project progress, risks, blockers, and resource constraints, escalating major issues with mitigation strategies.
- Foster effective cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Data, QA, and Compliance teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Lead day-to-day delivery activities, maintaining sprint and release cadences in cooperation with the Scrum Master.
- Monitor progress closely and resolve blockers or dependencies to maintain delivery flow.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, balancing speed with quality and operational stability.
- Coach and support the product team throughout the product development lifecycle, including UAT and release readiness.
- Ensure usability, accessibility, and consistency of the product through all stages of development.
- Oversee Platform Operations, ensuring accurate completion of operational tasks, proper configuration management, and thorough documentation.
- Identify and implement automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort and recurring operational issues.
- Lead and mentor the Application Product Manager, Product Designer, Scrum Master, and Platform Operations Specialist, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing capability development for the product function.
Required Experience and Skills
- Background in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated sectors.
- Proven leadership in Product, Delivery, or Program management within software, SaaS, or technology companies.
- Experience delivering complex software products from inception through to launch.
- Strong hands-on expertise in product management activities including requirements gathering, backlog prioritization, story refinement, and user acceptance testing.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams encompassing Product Managers, Designers, Delivery leads, and Operations specialists.
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities.
- Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies and contemporary product delivery practices.
- Capability to juggle multiple projects, priorities, and cross-team dependencies effectively.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, communication skills and a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset.
- Comfortable operating within fast-growing, startup or scale-up environments is advantageous.
