Role Overview and Responsibilities

As Maple Leaf Homes grows, the new Director of Procurement will join senior leadership, overseeing procurement activities and developing long-term sourcing plans. This critical position focuses on managing supplier relations, ensuring cost-efficient and timely procurement of goods and services in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

• Formulate and implement thorough procurement strategies aligned with operational efficiency and company growth.
• Supervise purchasing functions including inventory management, vendor negotiations, contract administration, and cost evaluation.
• Work collaboratively with production, engineering, finance, and leadership teams to forecast material needs and integrate procurement plans with corporate objectives.
• Evaluate market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities, mitigate supply chain risks, and improve operations.
• Oversee procurement budgets, monitor KPIs, and regularly report progress to executive management.
• Establish and nurture supplier partnerships to guarantee quality, dependability, and sustained value.
• Ensure compliance with Syspro ERP systems, company procurement policies, and relevant regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
• Promote digital transformation and streamline procurement processes to increase efficiency and data reporting capabilities.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 5 years of advancing procurement or supply chain experience, including a minimum of 2 years in leadership or director roles.
• Experience in construction, modular housing, or manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
• Strong financial skills with proven management of multimillion-dollar procurement budgets.
• Expertise in negotiation, contract management, and supplier development.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Syspro, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• A strategic thinker with excellent analytical, communication, and leadership qualities.
• Proven ability to drive organizational change, cultivate high-performing teams, and influence diverse stakeholders.
