Position Overview

As the Director of Process and Project Management (PMO), you will spearhead the design, harmonization, and governance of vital operational workflows while managing the enterprise-wide Project Management Office. This leadership role demands driving disciplined execution of strategic projects, enhancing process uniformity and scalability, and ensuring measurable business outcomes are achieved.

Key Duties

  • Lead identifying and standardizing cross-departmental operational procedures to boost efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with concept, regional, and functional leaders to review current practices and create forward-looking solutions.
  • Develop governance systems to ensure processes are consistently followed, refined, and sustainable long-term.
  • Act as the main custodian and promoter of key operational protocols across all brands and divisions.
  • Manage and mature the Project Management Office, setting top-tier standards for governance, prioritization, and project delivery.
  • Oversee a portfolio of strategic and operational projects, ensuring they are completed timely, within budget, and aligned with corporate goals.
  • Implement and sustain tools and reporting mechanisms to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Guide initiative intake, prioritization, and resource allocation for enterprise initiatives.
  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional strategic projects personally.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to convert business priorities into actionable project plans with defined milestones and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination by removing obstacles and promoting execution discipline.
  • Assist leaders in preparing business cases defining scope, benefits, risks, and ROI.
  • Organize governance forums and provide executive reports regularly to the Operating Committee.
  • Drive structured process improvement initiatives leveraging data analysis, root cause investigation, and practical implementation methods.
  • Coordinate Kaizen and other focused improvement events.
  • Create standardized toolkits, methodologies, and templates for process and project management excellence.
  • Build and mentor a team of experts specializing in process design, project management, and implementation guidance.
  • Coach leaders and operational teams on process adoption, project execution, and change management techniques.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to provide practical and accessible training materials.
  • Maintain effective and clear communication across all levels, ensuring alignment on priorities, progress, and results.
  • Promote clarity and accountability in initiative communication and execution practices.
  • Support brand and new program rollouts by ensuring operational processes are well defined and scalable at the field level.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Project Management Institute certification (PMP or PgMP) is mandatory.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong expertise in project and portfolio leadership, including prioritizing and managing complex projects.
  • Deep knowledge of process design with emphasis on practical, scalable solutions and adoption.
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and influence, especially with senior leadership and field teams.
  • Strong focus on execution discipline, outcomes, and accountability.
  • Clear and structured communication abilities across organizational tiers.
  • Flexibility and agility to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel across Greater Toronto Area and restaurant locations as needed.
  • Flexible working hours, including potential evenings and weekends depending on project demands.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Project Management or related discipline; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Between 7 to 10+ years of advancing experience in project management, PMO leadership, and process improvement.
  • Experience within multi-unit hospitality, restaurant, or retail operations is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-sectional projects and deploying standardized processes at scale.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management practices, tools, and portfolio governance.
  • Previous leadership or operational experience within a PMO framework.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is CAD 118,300 to CAD 140,500 annually.
