Director of Operations

Role Purpose

The Director of Operations will lead efforts to enhance the operational functions of Pint of Science Australia by driving improvements that increase volunteer satisfaction, retention, and succession planning, ensuring the organization's ongoing operational viability. This role holds accountability for the smooth running of Pint of Science Australia, particularly the effective execution of the annual Pint of Science Festival.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Pint of Science leadership to define strategic objectives focused on advancing operational activities for the upcoming year.
• Oversee planning, monitoring, and reporting of operational improvements and deliverables to the leadership to guarantee timely and effective task completion.
• Manage the Festival Operations area, ensuring the annual Pint of Science Australia festival is successfully organized and delivered.
• Foster a team culture that is inclusive, supportive, respectful, and cooperative by promoting transparent communication, integrity, accountability, and nurturing leadership qualities within the team.

Expected Commitment

The position requires approximately 3 to 5 hours weekly, with increased hours up to 15 per week during peak festival times and major milestones.
