About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Operations Director to lead a well-established engineering contractor specialising in major Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects throughout Ireland and Mainland Europe. This senior executive position is based in Ireland and demands frequent travel to multiple continental sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee successful delivery of numerous high-value engineering projects.
- Develop and execute operational strategies, enhancing performance and driving continuous improvement.
- Ensure projects meet safety standards, remain on schedule, and stay within budget limits.
- Manage profitability, monitor commercial outcomes, and mitigate operational risks.
- Forge and maintain strong partnerships with clients, consultants, and essential stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor Regional Directors, Project Directors, and senior operations personnel.
- Champion business growth, innovation, and international market expansion.
Candidate Profile
- Degree holder in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience within construction or engineering sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise leading extensive MEP projects.
- Strong capabilities in commercial, operational, and financial management.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commitment to frequent travel across Mainland Europe.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership.
- MBA or postgraduate studies in Business or Project Management.
- Experience with Data Centres, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or Commercial projects.
- Familiarity with Lean Construction principles, BIM, and Digital Construction technologies.
