Job description
Role overview
A locally owned hospitality group in Portland is looking for a Director of Operations to oversee a set of elevated casual restaurant concepts. The right person will be a practical, people-focused operator who likes spending time in restaurants, supporting teams directly, and improving day-to-day performance.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys developing restaurant leaders, tightening operating systems, and helping drive a consistently strong guest experience across multiple locations. The group has already earned a solid reputation in the local dining scene and wants a leader who can reinforce current standards while also contributing to future expansion.
The position is not office-bound. You will be active in the restaurants on a regular basis, coaching General Managers, strengthening processes, and helping each site perform at a high level.
Compensation
Annual pay is listed at $100,000 to $125,000, with incentives and benefits included.
Responsibilities
- Support, coach, and grow General Managers and other restaurant leaders.
- Promote consistent execution, strong service delivery, and excellent guest satisfaction across locations.
- Track performance indicators such as revenue, labour, food cost, and overall profitability.
- Build and roll out systems and procedures that make operations more efficient.
- Work with ownership on business planning and long-term growth opportunities.
- Visit restaurants regularly and provide direct, hands-on operational guidance.
- Protect brand standards while keeping food quality and hospitality at a high level.
Requirements
- Experience managing operations across multiple restaurant units.
- Exposure to elevated casual or upscale full-service restaurant environments.
- Demonstrated success in developing managers and creating strong teams.
- Solid financial understanding, including P&L management, labour control, and operational KPI tracking.
- A growth-oriented mindset with interest in improving systems and team culture.
