Role overview

This position sits at the center of CargoX’s autonomous delivery operations in the UAE. The selected leader will design, run, and continuously improve the operating framework that keeps the fleet dependable as the business expands. It is both a creation and execution role: you will define the operating model, deliver on cost and performance targets, and coordinate with technology partners to put a strong, market-leading service into operation.

Key accountabilities

  • Set the overall operations strategy and day-to-day operating structure across remote operations, maintenance, mapping, and operations excellence.
  • Own the operations P&L and fleet unit economics, including vehicle uptime, cost per vehicle, maintenance spend, and cost per delivery.
  • Increase fleet availability, utilization, and productive delivery time across active operational zones.
  • Build and run remote operations capabilities, including the control room, remote vehicle management and intervention, manual dispatch, and live incident resolution.
  • Lead maintenance operations, covering depot activity such as charging, cleaning, and repairs, as well as mobile/roadside support, spare-parts inventory, and vehicle procurement; also oversee outsourced provider governance.
  • Own the mapping process, including map collection, validation, testing, and the feedback loop to the technical team so map quality and coverage improve over time.
  • Create SOPs, safety procedures, operational standards, and continuous-improvement initiatives across every major operational area.
  • Take responsibility for the operational safety case, incident handling, and regulatory/permitting needs for autonomous operations.
  • Define what the in-house technology stack must support and how it should integrate with the vehicle platform for maintenance and charging workflows.
  • Manage external vendors and SLAs, while coordinating activity across CargoX teams and entities.
  • Build, coach, and scale the operations leadership team, along with the playbook needed to expand into new zones.
  • Prepare and present operational results, risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership and the Board.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate brings extensive operations experience and senior leadership exposure, ideally from autonomous vehicles, EV or connected-fleet operations, mobility, or last-mile logistics.

You should be comfortable working across technical and commercial topics, able to speak credibly with OEM and engineering teams, and skilled at making decisions based on data and business economics.
