Position Overview
As Director of Marketing, reporting directly to the VP of Sales, Marketing & Revenue, you will lead and mentor a team of six marketing professionals to advance brand awareness, customer demand, and conversion through various channels. This role partners extensively with sales, revenue, operations, finance, and people & culture departments to ensure marketing initiatives support broader business objectives. You will oversee campaign development, execution, and analysis while promoting a workplace culture of collaboration, learning, and celebration. Approximately 25% of your time will involve travel to company locations.
Initial 3-Month Objectives
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales, Marketing & Revenue to learn current marketing programs and strategic goals
- Engage with your marketing team to build relationships and understand their needs
- Embrace the "Leading with Love" leadership philosophy and apply it to your management approach
- Familiarize yourself with the company’s feedback, mentoring, and coaching systems and implement them
- Meet with fellow directors and regional managers to understand cross-departmental usage of marketing and gather insights
- Analyze competitors and guest feedback to profile customer needs
- Visit all company properties to grasp each brand’s unique features and locations
- Review existing marketing, sales, and revenue plans to identify priorities
Goals Within 12 Months
- Strengthen trust and professional development within your team, including tailored career plans and delegating tasks for skill growth
- Create an empowered, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture that values experimentation and recognition
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual and multi-year marketing strategy aligned with corporate goals
- Establish and nurture strong collaborations with sales, revenue, operations, finance, and HR teams to ensure integrated campaign success
- Maintain consistent brand strategy, voice, identity, and messaging across all platforms
- Lead the conception, planning, execution, and optimization of multi-channel integrated marketing campaigns
- Manage timelines, creative direction, activation strategies, and campaign launches
- Interpret campaign data and audience insights to continually refine marketing approaches and recommend future actions
- Direct external communications and public relations to enhance brand visibility and leadership
- Support executive leadership with presentations, speeches, and external communication
- Implement regular reporting for teams, stakeholders, and leadership to track progress and impacts
