Director of Learning Strategy

Role overview

This role calls for a seasoned academic leader who has already shaped and delivered a substantial learning strategy with measurable impact. The ideal candidate has led teams directly, built practical systems grounded in learning science, and can clearly explain that work in public-facing settings.

2 Hour Learning uses an accelerated model where students progress at roughly twice the normal pace while spending only two hours per day on learning. The approach combines AI-supported tutoring, mastery-based advancement, and a rethinking of the traditional classroom. The organization now needs a leader who can align execution across multiple schools, raise academic standards, and represent the model externally as a credible voice for evidence-based learning science.

This is a hands-on leadership role rather than an academic research position. The person in this position will translate learning science into operational practice, set demanding standards, identify performance gaps, grow strong teams, and drive measurable outcomes. The role also includes representing the organization globally and advocating for its model in important external forums.

What you will do

• Create academic systems that turn learning science into usable frameworks for curriculum design, motivation, and product/application development.
• Run academic performance reviews with Heads of Academics to keep teams aligned, accountable, and consistently delivering results across schools.
• Use data analysis, interviews, and direct observation to evaluate the academic environment, uncover barriers to faster learning, and recommend focused improvements.
• Maintain strategic alignment through planning routines, feedback loops, and milestone tracking so teams stay focused on learning goals.
• Represent 2 Hour Learning in high-visibility settings, including keynote events and discussions with Ministries of Education, to support broader educational change.

• It does not focus on isolated curriculum work that fails to influence the wider system.
• It is not a research-only position with no link to student outcomes or operational delivery.
• It does not involve passing responsibility for results to middle management or outside advisors.
• It does not rely on organizational reputation or abstract theory to persuade key stakeholders.

Additional information

This is a full-time role with a 40-hour work week and is intended to be long term. The position is available immediately.

You will need to work as an independent contractor under a Contractor of Record arrangement with Crossover.

Compensation is set at $200 USD per hour, which works out to $400,000 USD per year based on 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payments are made weekly.
