Overview

The Director of Learning & Development, reporting to the Chief Talent Officer, collaborates closely with Talent Management, HR Operations, and business leaders to enhance leadership skills, nurture talent pipelines, promote career advancement, and drive organizational talent initiatives. This role operates as a hands-on individual contributor, responsible for the creation, deployment, facilitation, and ongoing enhancement of learning and talent development programs across the enterprise. The Director also plays a critical role in succession planning and performance management by developing and delivering targeted development solutions that further organizational talent strategies and boost employee and managerial effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide learning and development programs independently.
  • Create comprehensive learning materials including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, e-learning assets, and supplementary resources.
  • Manage full program cycles from needs analysis to delivery, communication, measurement, and refinement.
  • Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions as necessary.
  • Simultaneously oversee multiple learning initiatives ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop and administer development programs targeting high-potential personnel, including mentoring, cohort experiences, and stretch assignments aligned with talent acceleration.
  • Collaborate with Talent Management to tune development initiatives to corporate talent strategies and monitor their impact and effectiveness.
  • Create practical career pathing tools, learning roadmaps, and guides to support employee growth and internal mobility.
  • Work with HR and business leaders to identify cross-functional development opportunities and maintain updated career development resources.
  • Support succession planning and performance management by designing relevant development experiences and crafting resources that enhance coaching, feedback, goal setting, and planning capabilities.
  • Design, facilitate, and improve frontline supervisor training covering critical topics such as coaching, performance discussions, engagement, conflict resolution, communication, team leadership, employee relations, change management, and onboarding newly promoted supervisors.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and business owner for SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS), leading its implementation, configuration, maintenance, content management, and user adoption.
  • Collaborate across HRIS, HR Operations, IT, and vendors to troubleshoot LMS issues and deploy enhancements.
  • Track learner engagement and system performance, continuously optimizing the user experience.
  • Measure program participation, completion, feedback, and outcomes; create dashboards and reports to assess effectiveness and drive improvements.
  • Maintain thorough documentation including standard operating procedures and learning processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Psychology, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of eight years progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or related HR fields.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, implement, and facilitate comprehensive learning programs from ideation through deployment.
  • Experience supporting talent growth within multi-site manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success in creating development initiatives for frontline supervisors, managers, high-potential and emerging leaders.
  • Expertise in crafting career pathing frameworks, development tools, and employee growth programs.
  • Experience partnering in succession planning and performance management processes with Talent Management and HR Operations.
  • Hands-on LMS management, including content administration, curriculum building, reporting, and user support.
  • Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors LMS implementation, administration, and enhancements.
  • Strong instructional design skills and ability to develop learner-focused content utilizing diverse delivery modes.
  • Skilled in facilitating instructor-led and online training offerings.
  • Excellent project management capabilities to handle multiple priorities independently.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient analytical skills to evaluate program success and incorporate data-driven improvements.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s) in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience designing blended learning solutions combining instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with talent assessments, competency models, and development planning methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methods, and learning measurement strategies.
  • Experience creating reporting dashboards and leveraging learning analytics to support decision-making.
