About the UK Semiconductor Centre
The UK Semiconductor Centre (UKSC) is an industry-led organization dedicated to reinforcing and advancing the UK's semiconductor industry. Backed by government support, UKSC aims to initiate long-term programs that will significantly enhance the UK's semiconductor success and positively impact the broader deep technology ecosystem and economy.
Role Overview
The Director of International Partnerships will play a crucial role in establishing and nurturing valuable collaborations with international government bodies and private sector entities within the global semiconductor community. This key position is part of the founding leadership team tasked with driving foreign direct investment and representing UKSC on the global stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain strong partnerships internationally across various segments of the semiconductor industry.
- Drive the attraction of foreign direct investment into the UK's semiconductor sector.
- Represent UKSC at international dialogues, forums, and related events.
- Offer strategic guidance to UKSC leadership concerning market trends and policy developments globally.
- Provide advisory support to UK government departments about the international semiconductor landscape.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have extensive international experience in technology, trade, or investment sectors. In-depth knowledge of the global semiconductor industry, including its trends and supply chain dynamics, is essential. A proven record of successfully fostering significant international partnerships is required. The role entails considerable international travel and occasional work abroad.
Work Setup
The UKSC operates from King's Cross, London, with a hybrid working model available. There may also be flexibility to work a four-day workweek.
