Position Overview

GMG Solutions Group, a private equity-backed shared services firm supporting three portfolio companies—Veristar Energy LLC, Current iQ, and InSite Intelligence—is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead and build an internal IT department. This position supports approximately 65 employees across these organizations and reports directly to the CFO/COO.

Job Responsibilities

The selected individual will assume responsibility for transitioning IT services from outsourced consultants to in-house management, overseeing end-user support, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 administration, AI tool implementation, and business application support. Key duties include daily IT support, escalations, optimizing Microsoft 365 across entities, enhancing collaboration tools, conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and remediation, managing endpoint protection, backups and disaster recovery, developing IT governance and strategic technology roadmaps, managing vendors and budgets, and advising executive leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must have over 10 years of progressive IT experience with leadership roles and at least 5 years leading IT operations or technology service delivery for small to mid-sized companies. Expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, successful experience managing technology transitions, cybersecurity assessment and remediation, and vendor management is essential. A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related fields is required, with a master’s degree preferred.
