Role Summary
The Director of Information Technology will shape and guide the club’s technology direction, infrastructure, security posture, enterprise systems, and digital modernization efforts. This position is accountable for the full lifecycle of technology services that enable club operations, elevate the member experience, and support long-term organizational goals.
As a strategic advisor to senior leadership, this leader will ensure that all technology solutions are secure, adaptable, efficient, and suited to the demands of a sophisticated private club setting. The scope includes oversight of platforms such as Cobalt, Microsoft 365, business intelligence tools, cybersecurity initiatives, networking, telecommunications, audiovisual systems, and new technology opportunities.
Technology Strategy and Innovation
The role involves building and maintaining the club’s long-range technology roadmap, finding ways to improve efficiency, communication, data availability, and the overall member experience through modern tools and processes. It also includes assessing new technologies, including AI, automation, and hospitality-oriented innovations, while driving transformation efforts across departments.
Enterprise Applications and Systems
This leader will manage the club’s core technology environment, including Cobalt Club Management Software and Microsoft 365 tools such as Office, SharePoint, and Teams. The position also includes coordinating system integrations that improve workflow and reporting, with exposure to platforms such as UKG, FoodTrak, and Birchstreet. Collaboration with department heads to identify enhancements and automation opportunities is a key part of the job.
Cybersecurity and Risk Management
The Director will design and sustain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures that protect club, member, and employee information. Responsibilities include security awareness training, phishing defense, endpoint and network protection, identity management, vulnerability management, disaster recovery planning, incident response readiness, business continuity planning, and oversight of privacy and regulatory compliance.
Infrastructure and Technical Operations
This position oversees network infrastructure, telecom services, Wi-Fi, servers, cloud platforms, audiovisual technology, and end-user devices. The Director is expected to maintain reliable uptime, scalable systems, and efficient troubleshooting for critical outages and service interruptions, while also establishing technology standards, documentation practices, and asset management controls.
Member and Employee Technology Support
A major focus of the role is delivering high-quality technology support for members, employees, and club leadership. This includes support for member-facing platforms, mobile apps, reservations tools, and digital communication systems, along with setting service expectations and response standards for the IT function. The position should help reinforce a hospitality-driven approach to technology service.
Projects, Vendors, and Financial Oversight
The Director will lead implementations, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure projects while managing external relationships with software vendors, consultants, telecom providers, and other technology partners. Duties also include negotiating contracts, licensing, and service agreements, and ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business needs.
Budget responsibilities include preparing and overseeing annual operating and capital plans for IT, evaluating return on investment, monitoring spend, recommending cost-conscious solutions, and contributing to long-term capital planning.
Leadership Responsibilities
The role includes direct leadership of the IT team through coaching, mentoring, goal setting, performance management, development planning, staffing oversight, training, and succession preparation. The Director is expected to create a work environment built on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and ongoing improvement.

The role involves frequent contact with employees, members, vendors, consultants, and technology partners in a busy hospitality setting that operates extended hours throughout the year.
Availability outside standard business hours may be needed to address critical incidents, cybersecurity events, infrastructure outages, and other emergencies.
