Job description

Role overview

Adaugeo Healthcare Solutions, the parent organization of Praxis Health and Interpath Laboratory, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead the people function for about 1,100 employees spread across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Nebraska. This position is based at the company’s Pendleton, Oregon headquarters and is meant for an HR leader who wants to shape strategy, not simply support it.

About the location

Pendleton offers a small-town Eastern Oregon setting with open landscapes, distinct seasons, a close-knit community, and a lower cost of living than larger metro areas. The area includes access to the Pendleton Round-Up, the Umatilla River, skiing within about an hour, and Portland or Boise within roughly three hours by car. The employer is upfront that this role is not the same as working in Seattle or Portland, and they believe the tradeoff is worthwhile for the right person.

Key accountabilities

  • Take complete ownership of HR across Adaugeo, Praxis Health, and Interpath Laboratory.
  • Lead and develop a team that includes a Director of Talent Acquisition and an HR Specialist/Business Partner reporting to this role.
  • Handle complex multi-state healthcare HR matters, including FLSA classification, ADA accommodations, compliance across different state requirements, compensation planning, and employee relations.
  • Serve as a direct partner to C-suite leadership and help shape organizational decisions.
  • Work with modern HR and business systems such as UKG, Greenhouse, Microsoft 365, and Claude Enterprise.

Candidate profile

  • Experience leading an HR department, with at least 7 years of progressive HR experience and real leadership accountability.
  • Background working across multiple states and understanding that compliance obligations can vary widely by jurisdiction.
  • Healthcare, clinical, or multi-site experience is preferred, though the employer will consider a strong track record of learning quickly in these environments.
  • A desire to build and improve an HR function rather than simply maintain an existing structure.
  • Comfort with a rural headquarters and interest in living and working in Pendleton.

Compensation and benefits

The employer offers competitive pay, relocation assistance, a full package of health benefits, and paid time off.

Additional information

This is a leadership role for someone who wants their work to have visible impact in a community setting while overseeing people operations for a growing healthcare organization.
