Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

About the role

This senior leadership position is for a commercially minded finance professional who can steer FP&A across a large, diversified business group in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on building financial clarity, strengthening planning discipline, and supporting major strategic choices through high-quality analysis and insight.

What you will do

• Own the group-wide annual budget cycle, periodic forecast updates, and long-range financial plans.
• Design and maintain financial models that support strategic projects, investment evaluations, and growth plans.
• Set up and track meaningful financial KPIs for different business units.
• Produce accurate management reports and explain key variances in a timely manner.
• Assess new opportunities, investment cases, and capital allocation proposals.
• Analyze profitability, cost improvement opportunities, and pricing decisions.
• Contribute to M&A work, including due diligence and follow-up tracking after investment, where required.
• Create dashboards and reporting solutions that improve business visibility and decision-making.
• Ensure planning activities follow strong controls, governance, and financial discipline.
• Continuously improve FP&A processes, tools, and systems such as ERP and BI platforms.
• Lead, coach, and strengthen a high-performing FP&A team.

What we are looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; postgraduate or professional qualifications such as MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or ACCA are preferred.
• At least 15 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial strategy.
• Background in large, diversified businesses or complex organizations with multiple entities.
• Strong capability in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance review.
• Ability to work closely with senior leaders and shape business decisions through analysis.
• Sound commercial judgment and a clear understanding of business performance drivers.
• Advanced skills in Excel, financial modelling, and reporting/BI tools such as SAP and Power BI.
