Overview

The Group Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will lead and oversee comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, and performance management efforts across all operations based in the GCC and MENA regions for a leading energy company. This role acts as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team by delivering insightful financial analysis, long-range modeling, and decision support to promote sustainable growth within the market-leading energy enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term strategic planning activities across all business units operating in GCC and MENA territories.
  • Provide detailed financial modeling, scenario evaluation, and strategic assessments to support major decisions related to capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions, and energy infrastructure investments.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews, evaluating deviations against KPIs, operational performance indicators, and market benchmarks; relay critical findings to C-suite executives.
  • Collaborate with regional operations leaders to improve cost efficiencies, boost profit margins, and optimize asset management.
  • Design and continuously improve standardized FP&A frameworks, reporting formats, and financial metrics for all subsidiaries within the enterprise.
  • Supervise working capital management and cash flow forecasting strategies to refine capital structure and ensure liquidity across regional businesses.
  • Champion the adoption of digital tools and advanced FP&A systems, business intelligence solutions, and automation technologies to modernize the finance function.
  • Guide and develop a high-performing FP&A team by inculcating a culture of financial discipline, analytical rigor, and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; credentials such as CFA, CMA, ACA or CPA are highly desirable.
  • At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, including a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership focused on group-level FP&A within the Energy or Oil & Gas sectors in the GCC or MENA region.
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex financial modeling, capital expenditure planning, and corporate strategic decision support for capital-intensive enterprises.
  • Strong interpersonal and executive-level stakeholder management skills with thorough knowledge of the regional energy market dynamics.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is considered a valuable asset.
