Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and commercially astute Director of Finance to steer the finance function at Corinthia Gewan Island in Doha, Qatar. This senior leadership position carries full accountability for financial strategy, governance, compliance, and delivering insightful commercial analysis to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership while collaborating with the executive team to align financial goals with long-term company objectives.
  • Oversee all finance operations including accounting, financial reporting, treasury management, taxation, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow oversight.
  • Produce precise and timely financial reports, management statements, and performance analyses.
  • Track financial results against budgets and forecasts to detect risks, opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Formulate and enforce financial policies, controls, and procedures that uphold strong governance and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, tax, and reporting obligations.
  • Manage internal and external audit processes while maintaining effective engagement with auditors, financial bodies, and regulators.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, delivering financial models and commercial insights to inform decision-making.
  • Analyze financial trends, costs, revenues, and investment prospects to support sustainable expansion.
  • Supervise treasury functions, capital funding needs, and working capital to guarantee robust cash flow management.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team to cultivate a collaborative, accountable, and high-achieving culture.
  • Continuously improve finance systems, workflows, and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the Finance department.

General Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Company's Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QHSE) Management System, policies, and guidelines.
  • Advocate for a culture promoting quality, environmental responsibility, and occupational health and safety across relevant areas.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and customer standards related to the role.
  • Recognize and mitigate environmental hazards and occupational risks within the work environment.
  • Follow established procedures and contribute to ongoing improvements in QHSE practices.
  • Support organizational goals related to QHSE objectives and preparedness for emergencies.
  • Comply with Company security protocols and foster a workplace free of sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, and gender-based violence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • An MBA and/or professional accounting certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Extensive senior-level finance leadership experience, ideally within the hospitality industry or multi-location international settings.
  • Proven track record in leading finance teams and managing complex financial operations.
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation, and financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to influence senior management and contribute to strategic business decisions.
