Job description
About GGM Services
GGM Services, located in Charlotte, NC, is a specialized contractor and field service provider dedicated to security and access infrastructure. The company supports commercial, industrial, and self-storage properties by designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing a comprehensive range of physical security systems, including access control, gate automation, sliding glass doors, automatic overhead doors, surveillance systems, fencing, as well as related civil and electrical work.
Role Overview
This full-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC, involves a hands-on leadership position that starts directly in the field before advancing to full operational management as the company expands. Initially, the Director of Field Services will spend three to six months working closely with field technicians carrying out installation, maintenance, and repairs on gate automation systems, access control hardware, automatic overhead doors, sliding glass doors, and surveillance equipment at various client sites including self-storage, commercial, and industrial sectors.
Following this foundational period, the role broadens to managing and developing the field service team, overseeing scheduling, project delivery coordination, and ensuring quality and accountability across all service offerings. This includes managing relationships with subcontractors, resource allocation, cost control, and establishing operational processes that support growth without sacrificing service quality. Maintaining strong client relationships, especially handling escalations and key accounts, remains a significant responsibility throughout the tenure.
Reporting directly to the company founders, this key leadership role demands versatility, combining experience working in the field with strategic planning capabilities, and a genuine drive to build the department and services from the ground up.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Extensive field service experience managing installation, maintenance, and repair across several locations.
- Proven dedication to customer satisfaction and service excellence, capable of managing escalations and nurturing long-term client relationships.
- Operational management skills, including scheduling, resource planning, and process optimization for field teams.
- Experience in training staff, developing standard operating procedures, and enforcing safety and quality best practices.
- Leadership background managing teams in technical or service-based environments.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in Charlotte and travel to client locations as required.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, organizational talent, and excellent communication skills.
- Preferred experience or knowledge in security systems, access control, gates/doors, or related technologies.
- Relevant practical field service experience or a Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, engineering, or a related discipline.
