Role Overview

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our Data Products division, the technical backbone of our clinical data infrastructure. In this role, you will define and execute the technical strategy behind the Data Products roadmap, which includes clinical data ingestion, creating a universal data model, and enhancing ingestion scalability. You will build robust and reusable data capabilities that underpin clinical insights, working closely with leaders across Product, Data Science, and Design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the technical planning and execution of the Data Products roadmap, including canonical data modeling and scaling ingestion pipelines.
  • Manage the clinical data ingestion workflows ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Advance the scaling of customer data onboarding and continuously improve data quality, standardization, and monitoring.
  • Facilitate transparent funnel metrics organization-wide and support the establishment of a strong enterprise reporting framework.
  • Champion the integration of AI-driven software development lifecycle tools to expedite coding, testing, and deployment while upholding code quality and security.

Success Indicators

  • Enhanced clinical data accuracy and timeliness across the patient base.
  • Consistent, scalable multi-customer data integration with documented, repeatable processes.
  • Widespread adoption of the Data Products platform company-wide.
  • Stable and trustworthy data infrastructure supporting rapid business growth.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • At least 10 years of engineering experience, specializing in scalable data platforms, distributed systems, and interoperability standards such as FHIR and CCDA.
  • Demonstrated success managing engineering teams handling large-scale clinical data pipelines.
  • Experience delivering complex software solutions within regulated environments.
  • Expertise in AI-enhanced development processes that improve productivity.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks including HIPAA and SOC 2.
  • Passion for healthcare innovation and improving patient outcomes through technological solutions.
  • Deep understanding of the challenges related to clinical data standardization and quality improvement.
  • Ability to creatively solve complex technical challenges and build high-quality, pragmatic engineering solutions.
  • Comfortable leading in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and strategic alignment.
  • Proactive leadership focused on operational excellence and delivery.

Engineering Leadership Skills

  • Proven experience in recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineering leadership roles.
  • Ability to foster a high-performance engineering culture emphasizing speed, quality, and psychological safety.
  • Skilled in driving organizational transformation and optimizing processes.
  • Competent in resource management, capacity planning, and technical debt reduction in fast-moving teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication translating technical complexities into business strategies.
