Director of Education

Role Overview

The Director of Education is tasked with providing visionary leadership and managing all aspects of educational programs and initiatives. This position involves the creation, implementation, and evaluation of top-tier professional development opportunities for educators, curriculum resources, and student-focused activities that are aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic objectives. The Director oversees educator workshops, student programming, curriculum development, and education partnerships to ensure programs are innovative, effective, and tailored to educator and student needs.

Key Duties

• Develop and drive the educational strategy and program advancement to support schools and educators statewide.
• Design innovative educational initiatives in line with best practices and organizational goals.
• Plan and deliver educator professional development events including workshops, conferences, and training sessions both virtually and in person.
• Cultivate strong relationships with educators, districts, and community partners to enhance program quality.
• Lead development of curriculum and instructional materials for educator and learner programs.
• Oversee a variety of student initiatives including classroom experiences, competitions, leadership development, and special events.
• Manage operational aspects such as program budgets, timelines, and logistics to ensure smooth program delivery.
• Supervise and mentor education staff and contractors, fostering an innovative and mission-focused team environment.
• Collaborate on program evaluation and impact measurement to inform continuous improvement and comply with grant reporting.
• Represent the organization at external events and develop partnerships with stakeholders statewide.

Candidate Profile

• Master’s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of classroom experience and 5–7 years in education, nonprofit programming, curriculum development or instructional leadership.
• Track record of designing and delivering professional development programs for educators.
• Expertise in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and engaging student programming.
• Experience managing projects, programs, and teams; supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for presentations and reporting.
• Experience with grants, impact measurement, and educational data management is advantageous.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a mission-driven, fast-moving environment.

Work Terms and Conditions

• This is a contract 1099 engagement with approximately 30 hours of work per week across 50 weeks annually.
• Location is flexible with remote work supported; however, Florida residency is required.
• The role requires about 40% travel throughout Florida to support programs and partners.
• The position offers a contracted hourly pay of $32 to $33.
