Job description

About the Company

Rumored makes clothing designed to capture memorable moments. The brand’s approach is centered on nostalgia, elevated quality, and creating pieces that remain meaningful for years rather than only for one season.

As the company grows, it is adding a senior leadership position to shape and run the next phase of its digital function.

Role Overview

The Director of Digital will bring together ecommerce, growth, retention, analytics, reporting, and digital operations into one connected structure. This position sits at the heart of the company’s growth engine and will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to define how the digital organization evolves.

This is a build-oriented leadership role rather than a pure people-management job. The person in this role will help design the operating model, put reporting and decision-making systems in place, and create the roadmap that supports the company’s next stage of growth. A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution is essential.

Core Focus Areas

Growth and Customer Acquisition: Lead the overall digital growth strategy across paid media and newer channels, improve acquisition efficiency and customer quality, manage agency and partner relationships, and collaborate with creative and brand teams on testing and performance.

Ecommerce and Conversion: Own overall ecommerce performance, guide conversion-rate optimization roadmaps, oversee UX and experimentation efforts, and improve conversion, average order value, and customer experience while managing the ecommerce tech stack and vendor network.

Retention and Lifecycle: Direct lifecycle marketing across email and SMS, strengthen repeat purchase behavior and lifetime value, and manage segmentation, testing, and retention initiatives throughout the customer journey.

Analytics and Business Intelligence: Create and maintain reporting systems and executive dashboards, set KPI frameworks and reporting rhythms, and lead attribution, cohort analysis, forecasting, and unit economics discussions that turn data into action.

Leadership and Cross-Functional Work: Oversee internal and fractional digital resources, develop scalable operating processes and planning routines, help shape the future digital organization, and partner with Brand, Planning, Operations, and Customer Experience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of experience in ecommerce, growth, or digital leadership roles, with direct ownership of digital performance for a DTC brand. Strong working knowledge of Shopify, Klaviyo, paid media, analytics, and ecommerce operations is important, along with a solid understanding of CAC, LTV, retention, attribution, and unit economics.

Experience managing agencies, consultants, and/or small teams is needed. The role also calls for comfort in a fast-moving, founder-led environment, along with a strategic mindset that is paired with a strong bias for execution.

Preferred Background

Experience in fashion, apparel, beauty, or another premium consumer brand is preferred. Candidates who have helped scale businesses in the $10M–$50M revenue range, built reporting infrastructure and growth systems from scratch, or worked directly with founders and executive leaders will be especially well aligned.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive base salary based on experience, plus a performance bonus tied to company and digital growth goals. Equity participation is also available.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a generous PTO policy, a fully remote setup, Summer Fridays, and a product allowance with an employee discount.

Additional Note

This opportunity is for someone excited to help build, scale, and define the future of a growing brand.
