Position Overview
This role is fully remote and involves leading the design and engineering creative teams, including art directors, content strategists, graphic designers, and engineers, to translate business objectives and client requirements into innovative and effective design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform abstract business goals and client briefs into clear, creative design concepts.
- Maintain accountability for the creative vision and output quality across all members of the design and engineering teams.
- Apply expert knowledge of signage production and installation standards to guide product solutions.
- Confidently present creative concepts to clients and clearly communicate vision to internal teams.
- Employ strong leadership abilities to recruit, motivate, and develop team members.
- Ensure all creative content aligns consistently with brand standards of the organization and clients.
- Coordinate and oversee multiple projects from inception through to completion, managing deadlines effectively.
- Produce, review, and verify accuracy of design deliverables including exterior recommendation booklets, product drawings, interior layouts, sign families, and branding documents.
- Collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders for project success.
- Encourage innovation by asking insightful questions, taking calculated risks, and advocating novel ideas.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role entails managing and leading a creative team of up to 12 designers and design engineers.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred (B.A) with at least five years of relevant experience or combined education and experience equivalent.
Communication Skills: Ability to interpret business journals, technical instructions, regulations; skillful in writing reports, correspondence, and manuals; effective in presentations and responding to stakeholder inquiries.
Mathematical Skills: Apply statistical and analytical techniques such as frequency distributions, reliability tests, variance analysis, correlation, and factor analysis.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving:
- Interpret complex technical diagrams and abstract variables effectively.
- Display creativity, attention to detail, and strategic analytical thinking.
- Engage with clients to understand requirements and formulate plans exceeding their expectations.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal communication to articulate creative visions clearly to stakeholders and teams.
- Collaborate efficiently in team environments, translating abstract ideas into concrete design elements.
- Possess extensive leadership experience in team building, delegation, and guiding creative groups.
- Strong background in architectural design, construction and engineered drawings, signage design, and proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Enthusiastic about close collaboration and communication within a distributed working model.
Technical Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and design software including CorelDRAW, AutoCAD, Redit, and SolidWorks.
Physical Requirements
- Work requires prolonged sitting and usage of hands for computer and phone operations.
- Frequently necessary to communicate vocally and move the neck by bending and twisting.
- Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 10 pounds and infrequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Must have vision capabilities suitable for both close-up and distance viewing.
- Travel requirements apply.
