Job description
Role overview
Bubble Down Car Wash is looking for a Director of Construction & Development to lead the growth of its physical footprint across Florida. In this position, you will guide projects from the earliest site search and concept stage through design, construction, and the final opening of each facility. The focus is on delivering high-quality, efficient car wash locations on schedule, within budget, and aligned with the company’s eco-conscious, modern wash technology approach.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with architects and engineers to develop efficient wash tunnel layouts and incorporate the brand’s water-recycling systems and extended tunnel designs.
- Oversee a multi-location construction pipeline, including planned projects for 2026 and 2027 in Clearwater, New Port Richey, and Punta Gorda.
- Create and manage large-scale project budgets, using value engineering and careful cost control to improve returns.
- Develop strong relationships with local trades, equipment suppliers, and specialized subcontractors throughout the Tampa Bay region.
- Direct entitlement work such as zoning, land-use approvals, and environmental permits across different Florida jurisdictions.
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA requirements while also meeting the company’s quality expectations for every site.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in commercial construction, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position.
- Prior exposure to automotive service facilities or high-volume retail construction is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools such as Procore and Autodesk, along with solid knowledge of MEP systems used in car wash operations.
- Demonstrated ability to run multiple projects at once and direct cross-functional teams including project managers and site superintendents.
Preferred skills
- Current PMP certification.
- Strong familiarity with Florida building codes and environmental compliance requirements.
- Interest in sustainable and environmentally responsible development practices.
