Position Overview
The Director of Accounting at Millan Enterprises, LLC. leads the financial operations and reporting across diverse business units including residential and commercial property management, storage, construction, Quality Flooring, Aviation, and various affiliated entities. This role entails supervising the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports for ownership, managing payroll, and preparing tax documentation. The Director collaborates closely with department heads to oversee budgets, monitor financial outcomes, and maintain compliance with financial goals. A key responsibility is partnering with property management to handle real estate accounting activities such as monthly financial statements and CAM reconciliations aligned with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily accounting department operations and lead the accounting team.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements for company owners.
- Work with external accountants for preparation and submission of annual tax returns.
- Administer intercompany transactions, allocations, and prepare consolidated financial reports across all business units.
- Coach and manage accounting staff performance and development.
- Guarantee accuracy and adherence in payroll processing and benefits management.
- Provide financial analysis and support to property management teams.
- Manage real estate accounting duties including rent rolls, accruals, balance sheets, and oversee annual CAM reconciliations.
- Lead organizational budgeting processes and departmental budget monitoring.
- Assist in financial planning and forecasting for all departments.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and policies.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Perform additional duties as required to support company success.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- CPA certification or a Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance is highly preferred.
- At least 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience with a minimum of 2 to 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Experience in real estate accounting focusing on CAM reconciliations and property budget management.
- Knowledge of tax reporting and compliance within multi-entity organizations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, AppFolio, or comparable platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and benefits administration.

Working Conditions

Compensation & Benefits
