About the Role

The Director of Academic Excellence will lead and own the academic vision and results for 2 Hour Learning, a pioneering educational model that accelerates student learning using AI tutors, mastery-based progression, and reimagined classroom design. This leadership role focuses on driving operational excellence by translating validated learning science into practical execution, aligning educational strategies across diverse school environments, and advocating for this innovative model on global platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive academic frameworks that transform learning science principles into practical guidelines for curriculum development, motivational systems, and app functionalities.
• Lead academic performance evaluations with school Heads of Academics to ensure teams are aligned, accountable, and focused on achieving results.
• Perform in-depth academic ecosystem assessments through data analysis, interviews, and observations to identify key barriers to accelerated learning and propose effective solutions.
• Maintain strategic focus using structured planning, continuous feedback mechanisms, and milestone tracking to meet student learning goals.
• Act as the public representative of 2 Hour Learning at major events and engagements with educational ministries, promoting the model internationally.

• Avoid engaging in isolated curriculum projects without systemic impact.
• Steer clear of theoretical research disconnected from real student outcomes.
• Retain direct accountability for performance rather than delegating to mid-level managers or external consultants.
• Depend on solid data and operational results rather than reputation or abstract theory for influence.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of an advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 7 years in leadership roles within academic or educational technology sectors, including team management responsibilities such as hiring, performance oversight, coaching, and termination decisions.
• Proven capability to drive student learning outcomes and uphold rigorous academic standards.
• Experience applying AI or innovative technologies to enhance education, including personalized or adaptive learning solutions and AI agents.
• Leadership of academic teams exceeding 50 staff members who directly execute curriculum, instruction, or assessment functions.
• Direct professional interaction with students, teachers, or school leaders as part of previous roles.

Terms and Conditions

• Full-time role with a weekly workload of 40 hours.
• Immediate availability required.
• Engagement through an independent contractor agreement with Crossover acting as Contractor of Record.
• Compensation set at $200 USD per hour, amounting to approximately $400,000 USD annually, assuming 50 working weeks per year.
• Payments are processed weekly.
