Job description

Company overview

The organization is working to reshape how grocery shopping and delivery work by making food access easier and creating better flexibility for the people who shop on the platform. It sees grocery fulfillment as a complex, high-opportunity space and builds services that customers depend on for everyday groceries and household essentials.

The company operates with a flexible-first approach, giving employees the choice to work from home, an office, or another location that suits them best, while staying connected through regular in-person gatherings.

Role summary

This position leads international strategy and planning for the platform business. The Director will shape the go-to-market direction for retailers outside North America, guide long-range planning, and help translate business momentum into clear targets and practical execution plans. The role also includes communicating progress and outcomes to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Set the international retailer strategy for launching and scaling the platform’s solutions by defining the vision, commercialization approach, and go-to-market plan for retail opportunities beyond North America.
  • Lead the strategy and planning function in partnership with teams across engineering, product, corporate development, operations, legal, finance, and other stakeholders to establish the international operating model and market entry approach.
  • Own long-term planning for the international commercial business and convert business momentum into measurable priorities that support the highest-value growth opportunities.
  • Develop the commercial enablement framework for international markets, including ROI models, go-to-market materials, and competitive analysis, and work with sales teams to support multi-solution and point-solution partnerships.
  • Partner closely with strategic partnerships teams to uncover opportunities that can speed up retail go-to-market efforts through growth and product collaborations.
  • Create clear, persuasive presentations and updates for both internal leadership and retail partners.

Candidate profile

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in grocery, retail, enterprise SaaS go-to-market, or strategy consulting focused on the grocery sector, with strong cross-functional delivery and measurable business impact.
  • Proven ability to build and manage operating rhythms and governance structures for complex, multi-region, cross-functional organizations.
  • Experience working internationally, including familiarity with regulatory and competitive differences, new market entry planning, and distributed teams.
  • Comfort operating in uncertain, rapidly changing environments and the ability to bring structure to ambiguous situations.
  • Strong executive communication skills, both written and visual, with the ability to present big-picture narratives and handle detailed discussions when needed.
  • Ability to think strategically over the long term while still executing effectively in the near term and turning complex data into a clear story.
  • Strong understanding of retailer priorities and the ability to build empathy with grocery and non-grocery partners.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams.

Compensation and benefits

This is a remote role with location-based market-competitive compensation and benefits. The candidate’s base salary depends on their permanent work location. For Canadian candidates, the listed base pay range is CAD 234,000 to CAD 247,000.

The role is also eligible for a new hire equity grant and annual refresh grants. Hiring is currently limited in Canada to Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
