Role overview
This senior leadership position sits within the Data, Analytics, and Performance Management function and is focused on accelerating data-led change across core banking operations. The role calls for a seasoned professional who can connect banking domain knowledge with advanced analytics to improve operating efficiency, strengthen controls, and generate strategic insights for decision-makers.
What you will do
- Set the direction for data-led operational initiatives, with a focus on automation, better decision-making, and measurable efficiency gains.
- Build and apply analytical methods that turn operational data into clear business insights.
- Convert complex findings into practical recommendations that help senior leaders improve performance, lower risk, and enhance customer outcomes.
- Promote continuous improvement across functions by identifying bottlenecks, waste, and automation opportunities, then leading improvement work from idea to delivery.
- Drive major transformation efforts using data and technology to redesign processes, introduce new systems, and increase overall effectiveness.
- Use deep knowledge of banking operations such as payments, trade finance, account services, reconciliations, and loan operations to define relevant KPIs and operating metrics.
- Apply ETL concepts and tools to maintain strong data quality, consistency, and availability.
- Create executive-ready dashboards and reports using visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or MSTR.
- Partner with IT, product, and operations teams to deliver shared outcomes and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Coach and support junior colleagues in data analysis, operational best practices, and transformation approaches.
- Present recommendations to senior stakeholders and secure alignment for strategic initiatives.
- Translate business problems and product requirements into clear technical specifications, measurable metrics, and actionable delivery inputs.
- Define initiative scope, business case, and efficiency impact, while advising on product/process design, risk gaps, and control mechanisms.
- Uphold regulatory expectations, ethical conduct, and the organization’s code of conduct, while escalating and resolving risk and compliance issues promptly.
Required experience and capabilities
- At least 12 years of progressive experience in banking operations, with substantial exposure to data analysis, operational excellence, and transformation programs.
- Strong background in data analysis, data modelling, and statistical techniques.
- Good understanding of banking products and end-to-end operational processes across multiple functions.
- Working knowledge of data operations concepts and tools; exposure to Dataiku, SAS, or Alteryx would be advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, MSTR, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated success in leading and delivering large-scale operational transformation initiatives.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical ability.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-influencing skills across all seniority levels.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong people management capability.
- Experience with ITIL and change management processes.
- Soft skills including communication, negotiation, relationship building, and influencing.
