Job description
Role Overview
This senior leadership role focuses on shaping enterprise strategy, guiding major strategic programs, and helping align corporate priorities across the organization. The position is based in the Greater Toronto Area and works closely with executive leaders and the Board to turn strategic direction into action.
Strategy Development and Initiatives
- Work with senior executives to uncover growth opportunities at both enterprise and business-segment levels.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by steering the design and delivery of high-impact, organization-wide initiatives.
- Analyze market, competitor, and industry trends and turn that research into strategic recommendations and benchmarking insights.
- Prepare executive-level viewpoints, recommendations, and thought leadership content that shape corporate priorities.
- Help advance the company’s enterprise strategy framework and long-term strategic roadmap.
Annual Strategic Planning
- Own and drive the annual strategic planning cycle in partnership with the Board and Executive Leadership Team.
- Build the structure for strategic discussions that set priorities for the enterprise and individual business segments.
- Plan and facilitate executive offsites and working sessions focused on strategy.
- Collaborate with segments and corporate functions such as Finance, Investor Relations, and FP&A to keep strategies aligned and integrated.
- Act as a key connector across teams to maintain consistency, transparency, and alignment in strategy execution.
Leadership Capabilities
- Use strong strategic judgment to anticipate market shifts and translate them into long-range direction.
- Build trust and influence decisions through effective collaboration with senior leaders.
- Communicate with clarity at the executive and board level through compelling presentations and storytelling.
- Convert strategy into measurable business results and tangible outcomes.
- Lead change effectively in ambiguous environments while driving organizational alignment.
- Support team growth through coaching, development, and talent-building practices.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in corporate strategy, business strategy, or management consulting.
- Background in financial services and/or experience with a top-tier consulting firm is strongly preferred.
- Proven involvement in enterprise-level strategy work, including shaping strategy across multiple business units, geographies, or functions.
- Strong history of influencing senior stakeholders and delivering measurable results in complex, matrixed organizations.
Education
- A university degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline is required.
- An MBA or similar graduate qualification from a leading institution is strongly preferred.
