Role Overview
The Director of Commercialization and Supply Chain is accountable for driving both sales growth and operational effectiveness throughout Maadho’s business. This role acts as a critical link between Sales and Supply Chain functions, ensuring fulfillment of customer commitments via strategic sourcing, procurement, quality assurance, inventory management, and seamless operational execution. The position’s responsibilities split roughly equally between advancing revenue through sales strategies, customer engagement, pricing, and business expansion, and optimizing procurement, supplier oversight, quality control, commercialization processes, and overall supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with executive leadership to formulate commercial strategies that promote revenue increase and profitability.
- Maintain and nurture important customer partnerships, lead contract negotiations, determine pricing tactics, and manage major accounts.
- Evaluate sales results, analyze customer patterns, and explore market opportunities to identify avenues for business growth.
- Work alongside sales teams on accurate forecasting, new customer program launches, and strategic plans for key accounts.
- Lead efforts on new product launches and commercialization activities for client programs.
- Create and maintain KPI dashboards to track sales outcomes, profit margins, forecast accuracy, and service quality metrics.
- Oversee Procurement, Supply Chain, and Commercial Operations teams, managing strategic sourcing initiatives domestically and internationally.
- Monitor supplier performance, direct purchasing, inventory scheduling, and production planning.
- Craft procurement strategies aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, quality, service levels, and mitigating supply chain risks.
- Ensure inventory aligns with customer demand while optimizing capital usage.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to enhance order fulfillment and on-time delivery.
- Direct Quality Assurance and Control programs to ensure products satisfy client specifications and regulatory standards.
- Manage supplier audits, oversee corrective measures, conduct product testing, and drive continuous quality improvements.
- Address manufacturing concerns with overseas partners and implement preventative protocols.
- Standardize product specifications, documentation, and quality procedures across supplier networks.
- Lead, develop, and inspire cross-functional groups encompassing Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality.
- Implement scalable operational processes, SOPs, and appropriate performance indicators across divisions.
- Champion continuous improvement targeting enhanced operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business profitability.
- Partner with Finance teams on demand forecasting, budget planning, inventory control, and margin evaluation.
- Contribute to long-term strategy development including supplier diversification and operational growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline; an MBA is advantageous.
- Minimum five years of leadership experience in commercial operations, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of sales strategy, pricing, procurement, inventory, and supply chain management.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, ideally with international manufacturing partners.
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams in demanding, fast-paced environments.
- Strong skills in analytics, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication, with exposure to executive presentations.
- Industry experience in foodservice packaging, retail distribution, manufacturing, healthcare products, or industrial consumables is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, CRM platforms, advanced Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence tools.
