Position Overview
The Director of Commercial for Systems and Rolling Stock at Qiddiya Investment Company is tasked with leading the strategic and operational management of commercial activities related to the procurement, contracts, and financial oversight of systems and rolling stock. This critical role supports the effective delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects by enforcing governance, managing risks, and enhancing financial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct commercial operations involving systems and rolling stock including contract negotiations, procurement, and vendor relationships.
- Create and execute commercial strategies focused on maximizing cost effectiveness and overall value.
- Supervise financial reporting and conduct commercial assessments specifically for systems and rolling stock projects.
- Work in close partnership with engineering, project management, and finance teams to align commercial goals with project timelines and budgets.
- Identify risks early and implement mitigation plans while ensuring contract compliance is monitored.
- Develop detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders to display financial health, potential risks, and emerging opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and corporate policies governing commercial management.
- Lead and nurture the commercial team with a focus on systems and rolling stock expertise.
- Forge and maintain strategic relations with suppliers, contractors, and external partners to ensure project success.
- Promote ongoing enhancements to commercial processes, tools, and reporting standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Finance, or related disciplines; a master's degree is favored.
- More than 12 years of advancing experience in commercial management, especially within transportation, rolling stock, or systems integration projects.
- Demonstrated skill in contract negotiation, procurement, and commercial governance.
- Strong knowledge of financial strategy, cost management, and risk assessment.
- Experience with major infrastructure or transportation projects, preferably within the Middle East.
- Outstanding leadership abilities and team development skills.
- Superior analytical thinking, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proficiency with commercial and financial software tools aligned with project management and reporting.
- Adept at functioning in complex, matrixed organizational environments.
