Role Overview
The position of Director - Commercial (Program-Wide Contracts) offers senior leadership over a wide-ranging contract portfolio. This role centrally influences commercial governance, negotiation, and program management across client, consultant, contractor, and government interfaces, aiming to enhance delivery effectiveness, mitigate risks, and optimize commercial results on a program scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the commercial strategy and governance for contracts spanning the entire program portfolio.
- Lead negotiations, oversee contract administration, and ensure compliance throughout major infrastructure projects.
- Manage commercial risks, including claims and dispute resolution, engaging multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Champion initiatives related to cost control, change management, and maximizing value across programs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, commercial management, or a closely related field.
- Over 18 years of proven experience in leading commercial departments within large-scale infrastructure programs.
- In-depth experience in contract management, handling claims, and resolving disputes.
- Strong knowledge in controlling costs, managing changes, and enforcing commercial governance.
- Proven capability managing senior client leaders, consultants, contractors, and government entities.
Preferred Expertise
- Familiarity with FIDIC or NEC standard contract forms.
- Understanding of government procurement frameworks and processes.
- Experience administering major EPC-type contracts.
