Position Overview
The Director, Brand Experience is a leadership role reporting to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and is part of the Leadership Team. This person is responsible for shaping how the organization is perceived and experienced across all platforms and interactions, ensuring that communications authentically represent Scott Mission's compassionate service to its community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the organizational brand strategy, identity, and positioning collaboratively with leadership.
- Contribute to the organization's strategic planning as a core Leadership Team member.
- Lead and coach the Brand Experience team to enhance skills and performance standards.
- Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and visual identity across all audiences and touchpoints to maintain a unified brand story.
- Design and execute impactful, data-driven campaigns aligned with organizational priorities in collaboration with fundraising and program teams.
- Clearly communicate program impacts in accessible, people-centric language.
- Work closely with fundraising to synchronize brand and fundraising messaging ensuring brand consistency.
- Oversee content development across all media channels to engage key stakeholders effectively.
- Manage paid media strategies and external agency partnerships aligning with brand aims and organizational goals.
- Direct website strategy and content to effectively highlight programs, access points, and engagement opportunities.
- Steer the social media approach to represent the organization's voice and foster meaningful engagement.
- Guide public relations and earned media efforts with partners to enhance visibility and community presence.
- Forge and nurture partnerships with like-minded organizations and events to boost brand visibility and positioning.
- Stay informed on market trends and sector insights to continuously refine the brand strategy.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to assess and strengthen brand impact and engagement.

- Development of a clear brand framework adopted organization-wide with staff proficient in brand application.
- Enhanced external understanding and clarity about Scott Mission.
- Unified messaging and tone across all client, partner, and public materials.
- An improved, user-friendly website that effectively communicates programs and engagement opportunities.
- A strategic roadmap for expanding external presence through partnerships, events, and campaigns.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8 to 10+ years of leadership experience in brand development, marketing, or communications.
- Proven ability to collaborate across multiple functions including program, development, and leadership.
- Strategic and results-oriented mindset.
- Experience managing or evolving brands in complex, multi-stakeholder organizations; nonprofit background favored.
- Strong skill in translating complex work into clear, compelling messaging.
- Experience leading teams with focus on coaching and building capabilities.
- Proficiency managing digital platforms including website strategy and analytics.
- Expertise in email marketing platforms like Mailchimp, including campaign creation, automation, targeting, and performance measurement.
- Excellent visual storytelling ability and maintaining brand consistency using design and content tools such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Canva.
- Confident communication skills suitable for executive presentations, workshops, and event representation.
- High attention to detail in brand consistency, messaging clarity, and deliverable quality.
- Alignment with Scott Mission’s core values demonstrated through leadership and team collaboration.
Work Environment
Scott Mission supports a hybrid remote work policy, expecting presence at the main HUB location three days per week and flexibility for remote work the rest of the week. Travel between locations may be required as part of the role.
Compensation & Application Details
This full-time role offers an annual salary ranging from $95,000 to $110,000, competitive benefits, generous vacation, and opportunities for ongoing professional and spiritual development.
