Role overview
This leadership position is responsible for shaping and directing the APAC supply chain strategy, with a strong focus on manufacturing oversight, operational discipline, and margin improvement. The role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to translate business priorities into effective supply chain execution and sustainable growth. It carries accountability for end-to-end supply chain performance across the region, including people safety, food safety, product quality, customer service, value delivery, and employee engagement.
This position may be based in Singapore City, Singapore or Johor, Malaysia.
Key responsibilities
- Build and drive the APAC supply chain plan in line with global direction and regional business goals, emphasizing cost control, execution discipline, and margin expansion.
- Take a leading role in the Integrated Business Management process, owning demand, supply, inventory, and material planning activities while ensuring risks, opportunities, and corrective actions are clearly addressed.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to bring market realities and commercial input into planning and new product introduction activities.
- Simplify and standardize supply chain processes to improve productivity, reduce expense, and enable more predictable delivery.
- Manage the full supply chain network, including owned manufacturing, procurement, production planning, logistics, and distribution.
- Hold full accountability for manufacturing performance, including safety, quality, conformance, efficiency, waste, downtime, financial outcomes, and continuous improvement.
- Design and execute effective distribution, transportation, and outsourcing strategies, including negotiations with third-party operators to improve savings while maintaining service levels.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, encouraging collaboration, ownership, and ongoing improvement through the Lean program.
- Build stronger functional and leadership capabilities across the organization, especially in planning, manufacturing, and operational excellence.
- Improve plant leadership and employee engagement, and partner with HR and Legal on union-related negotiations.
- Promote accountability and decision-making across a geographically distributed team, including management across time zones.
- Ensure compliance with relevant operational, safety, quality, environmental, and GMP requirements.
- Identify supply chain risks early and implement disciplined mitigation plans to protect continuity and reliability.
- Assess and deploy digital tools and automation that improve visibility, efficiency, and cost competitiveness while supporting scalable improvements.
Experience and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is required.
- MBA is preferred.
- At least 15 years of progressively responsible supply chain experience is needed, ideally within the food, beverage, or consumer goods sector.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain leadership is required.
- Demonstrated success in leading both supply chain and manufacturing operations in complex, fast-changing environments.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- English fluency is mandatory.
