Key responsibilities

  • Keep website and digital platform content current by coordinating updates with internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare, format, and publish approved text, imagery, and other materials through the content management system.
  • Help produce and edit web and social media content, including short-form copy, captions, and simple storytelling assets.
  • Carry out basic graphic and multimedia edits for websites and digital channels while adhering to brand standards.
  • Check website performance and assist with fixing routine issues related to content, formatting, and user experience.
  • Support recurring CMS maintenance, content audits, and quality-control checks to preserve accuracy and consistency.
  • Contribute to basic SEO, accessibility, and analytics work, and help compile straightforward performance summaries when needed.
  • Partner with content, communications, design, and technical colleagues on digital initiatives and campaigns.

Team collaboration

  • Help build a cooperative and encouraging team environment.
  • Take part in regular meetings and workshops.
  • Maintain documentation and shared reference materials to support knowledge sharing and continuity.

Other duties

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Assistant Dean and other senior leaders as required.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Digital Media, Communications, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Some hands-on experience supporting websites, digital content management, or related communications platforms.
  • Practical working knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, or comparable tools.
  • Basic HTML and CSS skills, with JavaScript familiarity considered an advantage.
  • Ability to produce and edit basic digital content and visual assets using common design tools.
  • Understanding of web accessibility, SEO, and digital analytics fundamentals.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organization, and solid written communication skills.
  • Capability to juggle multiple priorities, follow established processes, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred experience

  • Background working with editorial calendars, website updates, or routine publishing processes.
  • Exposure to Google Analytics or similar reporting platforms.
  • Basic graphic creation or image-resizing experience for digital channels.
  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven communications settings.
