Position Overview
The Animal Legal Defense Fund seeks a dedicated Digital Media Specialist to manage and enhance its digital footprint through websites and paid advertising platforms. Reporting to the Digital Media Manager, this full-time remote role supports the organization’s mission to protect animal rights via impactful legal advocacy, education, and campaign efforts.
Main Responsibilities
- Publish and continuously update diverse legal and advocacy-related content across aldf.org and associated microsites, utilizing complex templates and taxonomy.
- Curate and manage digital assets, including images and videos, adhering to organizational standards on photography and presentation.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance and daily monitoring to maintain website functionality and user experience.
- Integrate CRM and analytics tools effectively and assist with future website redevelopment projects.
- Track and evaluate website performance metrics such as traffic, downloads, and engagement using Google Analytics and Tag Manager, generating monthly reports.
- Advise cross-functional teams on optimizing digital content for usability, searchability, and audience engagement, keeping current with industry standards in SEO, UX, and emerging technologies.
- Design, launch, and oversee digital advertising campaigns across various platforms including Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads, and retargeting, focusing on supporter recruitment and maximizing campaign outcomes.
- Conduct targeting, retargeting, and A/B tests to refine audience engagement; write compelling ad copy and creative briefs.
- Manage Google Grants and collaborate with internal departments to support fundraising and event marketing campaigns.
- Prepare and process advertising-related expenses aligned with restricted grants.
- Create and update intranet content such as news, announcements, videos, and staff information as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline; candidates with an equivalent of three additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- At least three years of experience in digital communications and content production.
- Proficiency with CMS platforms, especially WordPress and Drupal.
- Strong command of HTML required; familiarity with CSS and JavaScript is preferred.
- Experience planning and executing paid digital advertising campaigns.
- Working knowledge of SEO techniques and best practices.
- Experience with Salesforce integration and analytics tools like Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft SharePoint, and Asana is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects effectively.
- Adaptable, creative, and self-driven with a passion for digital technologies.
- Preference for candidates with a background or strong interest in animal protection aligned with ALDF’s mission.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (1-3 times annually) for meetings or retreats.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary starting at $71,509, varying by geographic location with higher starts in major metropolitan areas.
