Role Overview
The Digital Health Change and Improvement Officer plays a crucial role in fostering the effective, safe, and sustainable utilization of digital technologies within Children’s Health Queensland. This position involves partnering closely with stakeholders to spot improvement opportunities, supporting seamless workflow integration, overseeing change initiatives, delivering training, and ensuring digital solutions advance patient care, operational efficiency, and user satisfaction. By blending project coordination, change management, and continuous improvement techniques, this role maximizes the value of digital health tools while assisting staff through transformative innovation.
Team Background
The Data, Analytics and Custom Solutions (DACS) team at Children’s Health Queensland supports the hospital and health service areas through four key streams: Data Services, Custom Solutions, Data Warehousing and Reporting, and Analytics. This collaborative team develops digital tools aimed at fostering improvement, innovation, and empowering staff to enhance services and consumer engagement.
Key Duties
- Take charge of and support the rollout of digital health projects, systems, and technology-based service enhancements.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical parties to promote effective change management and user integration.
- Review existing procedures and workflows to pinpoint areas for digital transformation and service improvement.
- Design and implement tailored training programs accompanied by developing and updating supporting materials and guides aligned with CHQ workflows.
- Work jointly with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment of digital health systems with clinical and organizational goals.
- Ensure all digital health efforts meet applicable policies, standards, data privacy, and regulatory mandates.
- Offer expert guidance and assistance for planning and executing digital solutions, including readiness assessment and ongoing optimization.
- Champion responsible and ethical application of AI technologies in healthcare, upholding clinical safety standards and organizational policies.
- Support monitoring of adoption metrics, gather and interpret user feedback and performance data to proactively recognize trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement.
- Evaluate impacts of changes to digital health solutions, ensuring maximum benefit realization and communicating risks related to updates.
- Identify and develop new digital health technology applications by analyzing clinical and administrative challenges using structured business methods to find impactful opportunities for system support or integration.
- Create and sustain scalable adoption frameworks for future technological initiatives, including Artificial Intelligence deployments.
