Acting as the university’s digital voice, this person will produce timely, creative communications that reflect NU-Q’s identity, priorities, and tone.

Social media management

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee content for NU-Q’s official social media channels, including Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and BlueSky.
  • Track engagement, audience sentiment, and emerging trends, while handling questions and community responses promptly and appropriately.
  • Maintain editorial plans, content calendars, campaign timelines, and growth strategies for audiences.
  • Partner with design and editorial colleagues to develop visually strong multimedia assets.

Digital content creation

  • Research, write, produce, and edit stories, captions, and posts tailored for web and social platforms.
  • Create copy that is concise, platform-appropriate, audience-focused, and consistent with NU-Q’s brand personality.
  • Contribute to graphics, short-form videos, reels, stories, and interactive digital assets.
  • Support live event coverage, institutional initiatives, and campaigns through real-time digital storytelling.

Analytics and strategy

  • Measure performance indicators such as engagement, impressions, and click-through rates, and prepare regular reports.
  • Use performance insights to improve timing, tone, and overall digital content strategy.
  • Keep up with social platform changes, algorithm updates, and current trends to improve reach and effectiveness.

Cross-department collaboration

  • Work with faculty, staff, and departments to promote academic programs, events, and research.
  • Update digital content across the website, social channels, and other digital platforms as needed.
  • Assist with reputation-focused communications in coordination with leadership.

Team collaboration

  • Contribute to a cooperative, positive team environment.
  • Take part in team meetings and workshops on a regular basis.
  • Help maintain documentation and shared resources to support continuity and knowledge sharing.

Any other responsibilities assigned by the Assistant Dean or senior leadership may also fall within the scope of this position.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Two to three years of experience handling social media and digital content, ideally within a university, media, or creative agency environment.

  • Hands-on experience with scheduling and analytics tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, and Google Analytics.
  • Comfort using digital creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, or similar applications.
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-moving setting and collaborate effectively across teams.

Preferred background

  • Advanced capability in graphic design, animation, and video editing.
  • Strong working knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress, as well as social and display platforms.
  • Awareness of Arabic language use and cultural context.
  • Experience in bilingual or international education settings.
